Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 7: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at JLNM Hospital, Rainawari to assess the functioning of the hospital, review ongoing healthcare services, and identify priority areas for strengthening patient care and infrastructure. During the meeting, which was attended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Srinagar, the Medical Superintendent (MS), and all Heads of Departments (HODs), Sadiq emphasized the importance of efficient healthcare delivery, better patient management, and continuous improvement in medical facilities to meet the growing healthcare needs of the population. Speaking on the occasion, Tanvir said, "JLNM Hospital has built a strong reputation over the years, particularly for its paediatric services and high standards of cleanliness. Our responsibility is to ensure that this institution continues to grow stronger and remains among the leading healthcare facilities in the Valley." He directed the hospital administration to maintain strict standards of hygiene, ensure timely availability of medicines and equipment, and prioritize patient-centric healthcare services. He also stressed the need for coordinated efforts between departments to improve efficiency, reduce patient waiting times, and strengthen emergency and referral services. During the review, key procurements were approved to enhance the hospital's capacity, especially in the paediatric department. These include procurement of specialized paediatric medical equipment, improved sanitation facilities, and essential infrastructure upgrades to further strengthen infection control measures and patient comfort. Tanvir Sadiq also committed funds for the procurement of a dedicated ambulance for the hospital to enhance emergency response and patient transportation services. Additionally, approval was given for the upgradation of the hospital's conference hall to facilitate academic discussions, training programmes, and Continuous Medical Education (CME) activities for healthcare professionals. He further informed that advanced medical machines are expected to be installed in the hospital next month through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which will significantly boost diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Reaffirming the government's commitment to strengthening public healthcare, Tanvir said, "Under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Health Minister Sakina Itoo, the government is fully committed to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring accessible, quality medical services for every citizen." He assured that regular reviews will continue to ensure that JLNM Hospital remains well-equipped, efficiently managed, and capable of delivering quality healthcare services to the people. |
