| Jammu Police crackdown on Gambling; Six nabbed in swift operation by Police Station RS Pura | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 9: Jammu Police have taken strict action against illegal gambling. Acting on specific intelligence, a police team carried out a swift and well-coordinated raid on 08 March 2026 at village Seer Balah under the jurisdiction of P/S RS Pura catching six individuals red-handed while indulging in illegal gambling and arresting them on the spot.
The arrested persons were identified as 1. Ashok Kumar S/o Sardari Lal R/o Chak Bakhtawar Tehsil RS Pura 2. Gurmeet Singh S/o Hardeep Singh R/o Chak Mohd Yar, RS Pura 3. Lekh Raj S/o Bua Dutta R/o Chak Mohd Yar, RS Pura 4. Deep Singh S/o Gian Chand R/o Balah Tehsil Suchetgarh 5. Bhopinder singh S/o Rashpal R/o Balah, Tehsil Suchetgarh & 6. Rashpal Singh S/o Anant Ram R/o Balah Tehsil Suchetgarh. All have been booked under Section 13 of the Gambling Act.
During the operation, police seized ?26,195/- in cash along with 02 set of cards. Further investigation is underway to ascertain any wider links.
The operation was led by PSI Affan Nazir No. GEC245696 under the close supervision of SHO Police Station RS Pura Inspector Tribhawan Khajuria ,SDPO RS Pura & SP Headquarters Jammu
Jammu Police reiterate their firm commitment to maintain law and order and warn that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in gambling or other unlawful activities. |
