DC reviews stock position of petroleum products in Ramban

RAMBAN, Mar 12: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to review the stock and supply position of petroleum products in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman, SDM Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, Assistant Director FCS&CA Niamatullah Sheikh, Tehsildar Headquarters Reejuta Mahajan, representatives of Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, along with officers from Legal Metrology, attended the meeting. The SDMs and other concerned officers participated virtually.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the stock position of petroleum products, operational status of petrol pumps, availability of LPG cylinders and the overall supply chain mechanism to ensure uninterrupted availability of fuel to consumers.
The Assistant Director FCS&CA informed that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel and LPG are available in the district and supplies are continuing smoothly without any disruption.
The Deputy Commissioner asked representatives of oil companies and officers to maintain constant coordination to ensure timely replenishment and smooth distribution of supplies.
He further directed SDMs and other officers to maintain strict vigilance against hoarding, black-marketing or overcharging of petroleum products and LPG cylinders. Legal Metrology and enforcement teams were instructed to intensify inspections at fuel stations and LPG outlets to ensure compliance with regulations and protection of consumer interests.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Ramban has also issued a public advisory informing residents that there is sufficient stock of petrol, diesel or LPG in the district and supplies remain adequate. Citizens have been urged not to believe or circulate rumours and to avoid panic buying or unnecessary stockpiling of fuel and LPG cylinders.
