IIM Jammu concludes nurturing future leadership program (Batch-17) under Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme

JAMMU, Mar 13: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu successfully concluded the Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) - Batch 17, conducted under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, with a valedictory ceremony held at the Vedanta MDP Centre, Academic Block, Jagti Campus. Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu presided over the valedictory ceremony. The valedictory ceremony was graced by the programme directors, Prof. Prashant Mishra, and Dr. Ateeque Shaikh.
The five-day programme held from 9th to 13th March 2026 brought together faculty members and academic professionals from various higher educational institutions, aiming to strengthen leadership capabilities, pedagogical innovation, and academic excellence among educators. The programme focused on equipping participants with contemporary management perspectives, effective leadership skills, and transformative teaching practices to enhance the overall quality of higher education in India.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, remarked that the programme should not be seen as a closure but as the beginning of a new journey of collaboration and learning. He noted that the programme was not a conventional teaching model; rather, it was designed with inputs from several faculty members to provide diverse perspectives and meaningful takeaways for the participants. He highlighted that this was the 17th programme of its kind and reflected a unique blend of academic exposure and institutional learning. Referring to initiatives like Staff Colleges and exposure to premier institutions such as IITs and IIMs, he emphasized that such engagements help participants understand the different ingredients that shape strong academic institutions.
He also spoke about the growth trajectory of IIM Jammu, mentioning that the institute has already secured two international accreditations: BGA accreditation for the institute and EFMD accreditation for its MBA programme. Despite being a relatively young institution, IIM Jammu has achieved these two global accreditations within a short span of one year, becoming one of the few second and third generation IIMs to do so. He further shared that the institute is progressing towards the prestigious triple crown through AACSB accreditation, while continuing to focus on creating meaningful societal impact. He further shared that the programme incorporated the theme of happiness and well-being and encouraged participants to bring positive changes within their institutions to create a multiplier effect. He concluded by inviting participants to continue collaborating with IIM Jammu in the future.
Prof. Prashant Mishra, Programme Director, and Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu presented the programme report and highlighted the key learnings and outcomes of the five-day programme. He noted that the sessions were designed to be diverse, interactive, and enriching, enabling participants to gain practical insights and collaborative learning experiences. He further expressed hope that the programme would contribute meaningfully to the professional growth of all participants and looked forward to welcoming them again for future engagements. He also emphasized that the initiative aligns with the national vision of strengthening academic leadership and capacity building in higher education institutions.
During the ceremony, participants shared their reflections and experiences from the programme, Participants also shared their reflections on the programme, describing it as a transformative learning experience. Quoting the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, one participant emphasized the importance of building trust while maintaining the courage and determination required for leadership, comparing the process to sculpting. where refinement shapes a stronger outcome.
