Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Mar 13: A Pensioners Outreach Programme (POP) was organised in Ganderbal on 12.03.2026 to strengthen engagement with pensioners of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and address their concerns in the region. During the visit, Shri Ashish Joshi, Principal Controller of Communication Accounts (Pr. CCA), North Zone, along with Shri Raj Karan Verma, Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA) J&K, and Shri Amanullah Tak, Joint CCA J&K, visited the homes of BSNL pensioners to enquire about their welfare and understand the issues faced by them.
As part of efforts to facilitate BSNL pensioners in the Kashmir region, a meeting was also held with the Chief General Manager of BSNL Jammu and Kashmir Circle to explore the establishment of a sub-office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA) in Srinagar. Suitable space for the proposed office has been identified and the sub-office is expected to commence operations after the required approvals are obtained.
In the interim, it has been decided that an officer from the CCA office, Jammu will visit Srinagar on a weekly basis to meet pensioners at a designated location provided by BSNL and address their grievances until the Srinagar sub-office becomes operational. The Pr. CCA appreciated the support extended by Shri Kush Kumar, Chief General Manager, J&K BSNL, and Shri Arvind Pandey, PGM Kashmir, in facilitating the initiative.
The outreach activities are being undertaken in pursuance of the Seva Sankalp Resolution, adopted by the Union Cabinet on February 24, 2026, which seeks to promote a citizen-centric work culture based on service, transparency and accountability and emphasises the principle of "Nagrik Devo Bhava".
