| MCM hosts workshop on 'Colour Psychology in Collage Art' | | | Early Times Report
CHANDIGARH, Mar 14: The Department of Fine Arts at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Pearl Academy, organised a one-day workshop on 'Colour Psychology in Collage Art'. The workshop aimed at enriching students' understanding of the emotional and psychological dimensions of colour in visual art and design.
The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Richard Bara, Associate Professor at Pearl Academy, Delhi. Sharing his creative insights and extensive experience in modern design practices, he offered students a deeper perspective on how colours influence perception, mood, and narrative in visual compositions. He encouraged participants to experiment with textures, contrasts, and layered storytelling while remaining mindful of the psychological impact of colour combinations in collage art. Through interactive discussions and hands-on exercises, students explored how colours can evoke emotions, communicate ideas, and enhance artistic expression. The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students, who actively engaged in the creative activities and meaningful dialogue with the expert.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the initiative and remarked that such workshops provide valuable exposure to contemporary artistic practices and help students develop a deeper understanding of the conceptual and expressive aspects of art. She added that industry collaborations play an important role in nurturing creativity and broadening students' artistic perspectives. |
