| JKPCC presents boat facility for devotees of Baba Bhair Devta, Jammu East | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 15: President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Shri Tariq Hameed Karra alongwith Working President Shri Raman Bhalla Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma & Th Hari Singh Chib today visited Main Chowk Katal Batal in Jammu East Assembly constituency near Nagrota, where a boat was presented for the benefit of the local population, particularly the devotees visiting the revered shrine of Baba Bhair Devta. Arranged by former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu East Yogesh Sawhney as part of his commitment to the people post the destruction of the bridge connecting Bhaid Dev Sarhan and surrounding villages due to devastating floods last year. Several local leaders & Youth Congress leaders including State General Secretary PYC Anirudh Sawhney, State Secretary PYC, Vijayant Pathania, Suhaib Manhas, General Secretary DYC Jammu Urban Faizan Malik were also present. The boat has been arranged to facilitate safe passage for the devotees who regularly visit the shrine of Baba Bhair Devta and for the convenience of the local residents who often face difficulties in commuting across the area. Local residents and devotees present on the occasion expressed gratitude towards the leadership of the Congress party and especially towards Yogesh Sawhney for responding to their long-standing demand. Many locals said that the arrangement would greatly ease the movement of devotees and the local population, especially during peak days when large numbers visit the shrine. They thanked the leaders for fulfilling their commitment and addressing an important community requirement. Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra said that the Congress party has always remained deeply connected with the aspirations and genuine concerns of the people and continues to stand firmly with them in every situation. He said that initiatives like these demonstrate the party's commitment to public service and grassroots engagement, adding that it is the responsibility of political representatives to listen carefully to the voices of the people and to translate their needs into meaningful action. Karra said that the devotees of Baba Bhair Devta and the local residents had been facing inconvenience for quite some time and it was heartening to see that their concerns were addressed through the efforts of Yogesh Sawhney. He added that public representatives must not only make promises but also ensure that those promises are fulfilled in a timely manner, as trust between the people and their leaders is built through consistent and sincere action.
