Ex-Minister Gharu Ram re-joins Congress before PCC president

JAMMU, Mar 16: Former Minister Ch. Gharu Ram along with his supporters has rejoned Congress party in the presence of PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra heretoday. PCC Working President Raman Bhalla and President DCC Jammu Rural Neeraj Kundan and several supporters of Ch. Gharu Ram were present on the occasion.
He was welcomed in to the party by PCC Chief and other senior leaders. He had joined DPAP on the eve of last Assembly Elections in 2024. They described his joining Congress party as a home coming and announced to work for strengthening the congress party, which alone can ensure justice to all sections of the society and maintain unity and harmony in the society.
Speaking on the occasion PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra said that Congress Party is an instrument of service to the people, which has remained dedicated to the cause of serving the people. The Congress Party is duty bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people, for the fact, it is the Congress Party alone which has always taken care of the urges and aspirations of the common man. Congress has been pioneer in implementing revolutionary programmes aimed at improving the conditions of the people, especially those living in remote and backward areas.
He said Congress party believes in strengthening the people and is committed to equitable development of the State. He described BJP dispensation as anti-poor, anti Youth, anti Kissan and due to its wrong policies the sufferings of the people increased manifold. The insensitive government pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a lot. He claimed that BJP Government pushed back State in all sectors during last more than ten years.
Raman Bhalla-Working President PCC said that people who want to contribute to the political discourse and development of the state must become part of the Congress's growth story. The doors are open for the people who want to contribute in the party's efforts to see the state out of the present mess and fight for restoration of statehood. He said Congress is committed for the people's cause and will always uphold their aspirations and sentiments. Without statehood, the people of the J&K suffer on multiple fronts, he added.
Bhalla said that communal and divisive politics of BJP has caused great harm to Jammu and Kashmir and all secular forces must unite and come on common platform to fight divisive forces.
