| MCM hosts free medical, dental camp | | | Early Times Report CHANDIGARH, Mar 18: Health Committee and NSS Units of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali, and Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Chandigarh, organised a free Medical and Dental Camp. The initiative aimed to promote health awareness and facilitate access to essential healthcare services within the campus. The medical team from Fortis Hospital comprised a panel of doctors, including Dr. Prabha Bansal (Dermatology), Dr. Ruchi (Gynaecology), Dr. Ravi Kant (General Medicine), and Dr. Ritesh Khokhar (Orthopedics), along with dietitian Dt. Vanshika and trained paramedical staff. The team conducted a range of diagnostic screenings such as blood glucose testing, blood pressure monitoring, ECG, and weight assessment, along with personalised diet counselling and chart recommendations. The dental camp was conducted by experts from Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, who educated participants on proper oral care practices. They demonstrated correct brushing techniques and emphasised the importance of preventing common dental issues such as tooth decay and gum diseases through regular hygiene practices. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 staff members and students, who benefitted greatly from the expert consultations and screenings. Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma stated that such health camps play a vital role in fostering a culture of preventive healthcare and well-being among students and staff. She added that the college remains committed to organising meaningful initiatives that contribute to the holistic development and welfare of its community. |
