Early Times Report REASI, Mar 21: District Police Reasi has registered a case against a pony handler for operating without a valid registration card amid the heavy influx of pilgrims during the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratra. In this regard, FIR No. 78/2026 U/S 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra against one Rakesh Kumar S/O Shankar Chand, R/O Kulter, Tehsil Panchari, District Udhampur. The accused was found operating as a pony handler without possessing the mandatory registration card, which is a violation of the prescribed rules and regulations governing such services. Notably, strict checking and verification drives are being carried out in view of the heavy rush of pilgrims during Chaitra Navratra to ensure safety, security and proper management of services. The entire operation was carried out by IC PP Banganga and SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS. SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS reiterates commitment to ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory guidelines, particularly in high footfall areas such as Katra. Any violation will be dealt with firmly as per law. Further investigation in the case is underway. |
