The event was organized to pay homage to the immortal martyrs and to honour their unparalleled contribution to India's freedom struggle. Speaking on the occasion, S.K. Sharma, Retired Commissioner of Income Tax and Chairman of the Association, stated that India paid a very heavy price to attain independence from British rule. He observed that a peaceful society has repeatedly borne the cost of freedom through loss of life, wealth, and emotional suffering. He emphasized that the youth of the nation must be guided by discipline, patriotism, and strong moral values so that such sacrifices are never required again. S.K. Sharma also expressed concern over the increasing involvement of youth in drug abuse and excessive engagement with social media, urging them to free themselves from these social evils and contribute positively towards building a strong and responsible nation. On the occasion, Karnail Chand, Prof. R.P. Sharma, Col. Y.P. Sharma, and other senior members reiterated their commitment to the objectives of the Association and pledged to continue working towards social awareness and nation-building initiatives. Among those present were G.I. Singh, Santokh Singh, Raj Kumar, Karan Kapoor, and several other distinguished members and citizens. The programme concluded with a collective tribute to the martyrs and a reaffirmation of the Association's resolve to uphold the ideals of sacrifice, unity, and national service. |
