Bharat Darshan Tour flagged off by District Police Poonch

POONCH, Mar 24: District Police Poonch, in compliance with the directions of Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ), Jammu, today flagged off a Bharat Darshan tour in a ceremonial event aimed at promoting national integration, cultural exposure, and awareness among the participants. The initiative has been undertaken under the guidance and overall supervision of ZPHQ Jammu.
The tour was formally flagged off by Addl. SP Poonch, Sh. Mohan Lal Sharma (JKPS), in the presence of DySP Hqrs Poonch, DySP DAR Poonch, and other senior officers of District Police Poonch. During the flag-off ceremony, officers interacted with the participants and encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity by learning about the rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and diverse traditions of the country, as envisaged under the initiative spearheaded by ZPHQ Jammu.
A total of 79 participants, including 05 caretakers, drawn from various districts, are part of the tour. The group will travel by air from Jammu to Delhi and onwards to Chennai. The tour is scheduled from 24th March to 29th March 2026. The Bharat Darshan tour will enable participants to visit prominent cities and places of national importance across India. The initiative aims to broaden their perspectives, foster a spirit of unity in diversity, and strengthen their sense of belonging to the nation.
While addressing the gathering, officers emphasized the importance of such exposure visits in shaping the outlook of youth and motivating them to contribute positively to society. Participants were advised to maintain discipline, uphold values of mutual respect, and represent District Poonch and Jammu & Kashmir with pride.
The present contingent is a fresh addition to the batches of participants being sent by various districts of Jammu Zone under the guidance of Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu, as part of the ongoing Bharat Darshan initiative aimed at youth engagement and national integration.
