Early Times Report THANNAMANDI, Mar 27: As part of the special phase of celebrations marking 150 years of the National Song "Vande Mataram", Government Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi organized a Letter Writing Competition titled "Write a Letter to a Freedom Fighter" to promote patriotism and create awareness about the invaluable contributions of India's freedom fighters. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students who eloquently expressed their respect, gratitude, and admiration for the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. Through their letters, participants highlighted the ideals of courage, unity, and selfless service, while also reflecting on the relevance of these values in present times. The programme was organized under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to remain connected with the rich legacy of the nation's freedom struggle. He emphasized that such activities play a crucial role in nurturing a sense of responsibility, patriotism, and national pride among the youth. The event was successfully conducted by the organizing committee constituted for the celebration of 150 years of the National Song, including Dr. Nazar-ul-Islam (Convener), Prof. Supriya Gupta, Dr. Gulshan Rashid, Prof Fatima Parveen, Dr. Ather Aziz Raina, Dr Meenakshi Sharma, Prof Rizwana Kouser and Attiq ul Rehman as members who ensured the smooth execution of the programme. The competition concluded with a message inspiring students to uphold the ideals of the freedom fighters and contribute meaningfully towards nation-building. |
