| SMVDU organized collective singing of Vande Maatram | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 28: NSS SMVDU organized a collective singing event as part of Phase 3 of the 150-year commemoration of *Vande Maatram*. The event aimed to promote a sense of national pride and cultural awareness among the university community. The programme was conducted in the esteemed presence of Vice Chancellor, Professor Pragati Kumar, Dean Student Welfare Prof. R. K. Mishra, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Balbir Singh, NSS Programme Coordinator, Dr. Rajiv Kumar. Students, faculty members, and staff participated in the event and rendered *Vande Maatram* in unison. Prof. Pragati Kumar discussed the importance of Vande Maatram in India's Independence struggle and it's relevance in today's context. NSS volunteer Pratibha Singh sang a full 3 minutes Vande Maatram in front of the students before the start of the collective singing. The initiative reflected the university's commitment to fostering cultural values and encouraging collective participation in activities of national importance. The event concluded successfully, leaving a sense of unity and shared responsibility among the participants. Around 100 students participated in the collective singing event. NSS volunteers Pravallika and Tanushka Pandotra coordinated the whole event. |
