| KFUPM delegation visits SMVDU to explore academic collaboration, global opportunities | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 28: King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, conducted an academic outreach visit to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), aimed at strengthening international academic collaboration and creating global opportunities for students and faculty. The visiting delegation comprised Mr. Aamir Farooq, Graduate Ambassador and PhD. Research Scholar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KFUPM, along with Mr. Aaqib Ali. Notably, Mr. Aamir Farooq is an alumnus of SMVDU from the M.Tech. Batch of 2016. The session was attended by several distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Balbir Singh (Dean Academic Affairs, SMVDU), Prof. Yugal Khajuria (Dean International and Alumni Affairs), Dr. Yatheshth Anand (Head, SME), Dr. Sanjay Mohan (CEO, TBIC), Dr. Pankaj Biswas, along with faculty members and research scholars from various departments. The event was coordinated by the Office of International and Alumni Affairs, SMVDU. During the outreach session, the delegation presented an overview of KFUPM, highlighting its global research strengths, fully funded PhD opportunities for international students, and newly launched project-based Master of Science (MS) programs in emerging fields. The interaction also focused on potential avenues for joint research, faculty exchange, and student mobility programs between the two institutions. Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such collaborations in enhancing global academic exposure.
