UDHAMPUR, Mar 30: Udhampur Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued 20 bovines during naka checking under the jurisdiction of Police Post Tikri.
Police party of PP Tikri apprehended one person moving on foot from Jammu side towards Udhampur-Srinagar side along with a group of bovines. The person was stopped and questioned by the police party.
On inquiry, he disclosed his identity as Ghulam Nabi S/O Mandu R/O Gujjar Nallah, Sandhi Jammu. During verification, it was found that he was transporting 20 bovines in a cruel manner without any valid permission.
All the bovines were rescued on the spot and taken into safe custody.
In this regard, Case FIR No. 65/2026 U/S 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is underway. |
