Jammu, Mar 30: One-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Future of Management Education” was successfully organized today by The Business School, University of Jammu. The Programme brought together faculty members from various colleges across the region, providing a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, academic dialogue, and capacity building in the field of management education. In the backdrop of rapid transformations driven by globalization, technological advancements, and evolving industry expectations, the FDP was designed to sensitize and equip educators with contemporary insights into management education. The focus was on strengthening faculty understanding of admission processes, emerging specializations, institutional frameworks, and career pathways, thereby enabling them to effectively mentor students in making informed academic and professional choices. The Programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the inaugural session. Prof. Amisha Gupta, Director, The Business School formally welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the FDP, emphasizing the critical role of teachers in shaping students’ aspirations and career trajectories. A key highlight of the inaugural session was the address by Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu and former Director, Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur. She shared her inspiring life journey, reflecting on her academic and professional experiences, and provided a clear roadmap for faculty members emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and regular upskilling in today’s dynamic academic environment. Her address deeply resonated with the participants, motivating them to remain proactive in their professional growth. |
