Early Times Report KATHUA, Apr 1: Acting on the directions of the Transport Commissioner, J&K, and under the supervision of RTO Kathua, A team led by ARTO Kathua Shammi Kumar carried out a major enforcement drive across the Billawar area on Wednesday. During the intensive checking , a total of 154 vehicles were inspected. Out of these, 54 vehicles were found violating various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and were challaned, resulting in a fine of Rs 3,69,400 being imposed on the offenders. In a strict action against serious violations, 12 driving licences (DLs) were also suspended on the spot, sending a strong message to habitual offenders and negligent drivers. ARTO Shammi Kumar stated that such drives will continue in the coming days to ensure road safety and strict compliance with traffic norms. He urged motorists to follow traffic rules diligently to avoid penalties and ensure public safety. The enforcement team included MVI Jatinder Chib, MVI Vikas Shrivats, SMVI Neeraj Kumar, along with other officials of the Motor Vehicles Department. |
