Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 2: National Conference Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, has lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, asserting that his government has successfully brought far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir back on the development radar.
Gupta made these remarks during an interaction with a delegation from Bhalesa, Doda, headed by Mohd Iqbal Bhat former MLC and Zonal Vice President Chenab Valley Zone who met him at the party's provincial headquarters, Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu. The visiting delegation expressed their gratitude for the renewed focus on the remote areas of the Chenab Valley under the Omar Abdullah-led government. They highlighted the progress made since Omar's tenure, especially in addressing the region's long-neglected developmental needs. However, the delegation also pointed out several challenges that continue to hinder the area's growth, particularly due to the decade-long misrule under the BJP government.
Key concerns raised by the delegation included issues in civic infrastructure, health, education, and connectivity. They emphasized that since 2014, their region, which is hilly and remote, has faced neglect, leading to significant gaps in essential services and infrastructure.

He reaffirmed that the government's focus will remain on addressing the civic and infrastructural needs of these regions, ensuring they are integrated into the broader development agenda of Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, Gupta underscored the importance of improving connectivity and upgrading local infrastructure to ensure these areas receive their rightful share of developmental progress. He assured the delegation that he would raise the highlighted issues with the concerned officers and ministers to expedite the resolution of these challenges.
