Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 4: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, on Saturday said that the Omar Abdullah-led government is working with commitment to bring Kandi Belt and Border areas of Kathua District on Development Map, after years of neglect during BJP regime.
He made these remarks while addressing a one-day conference of Kathua Rural at Pani Morh, organized and chaired by Sham Narayan Mehta District President Kathua Rural. The meeting witnessed participation from party functionaries belonging to the Kandi belt and border areas. The participants appreciated the leadership of Omar Abdullah for his pro-poor initiatives and renewed focus on border regions across Jammu. They expressed satisfaction over the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure, strengthen civic amenities, and address long-pending demands of residents in these areas. However, the functionaries also highlighted that the previous BJP government had neglected border belts, particularly in terms of basic civic facilities and special requirements of people living in these sensitive regions. Addressing the gathering, Rattan Lal Gupta said, “The Omar Abdullah-led government is committed to inclusive and balanced development, ensuring that Kandi Belt and border areas of Jammu, long neglected in the past, are now firmly placed on the development map with focused attention on infrastructure, connectivity, and welfare.” Gupta further reiterated that 25,000 Govt. Jobs shall be provided to the uneducated Youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He further added, “Our government’s pro-poor initiatives reflect a sincere effort to uplift marginalized communities, strengthen civic amenities in border belts, and address the genuine needs of people who were overlooked during the previous regime.” Calling upon party workers to gear up for the upcoming grassroots elections, he said, “The forthcoming ULB and Panchayat elections are crucial, and our party functionaries must get battle ready to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level and ensure that the voice of the people is effectively represented.”
Prominent party leaders, including Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Provincial Secretary Jammu, Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, also interacted with the functionaries and reviewed organizational matters during the conference.
