JAMMU, Apr 4: The Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences, Central University of Jammu, successfully organized an academic program, featuring an engaging talk on "Chemical Evolution of the Galaxy, The Milky Way - A Few Puzzles."
The lecture was delivered by distinguished astronomer Prof. Bacham Eswar Reddy, Dean, Faculty at IIT Jammu and Former Director, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, who shared valuable insights into the formation and chemical enrichment processes of our galaxy, the Milky Way. He highlighted key unresolved questions and recent developments in understanding stellar populations, nucleosynthesis, and galactic evolution.
The program was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, whose vision continues to promote academic excellence and interdisciplinary dialogue.
The event was convened by Prof. Vandana Sharma, while Prof. Vinay Kumar, Dean and Head, Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences, played a pivotal role in organizing the session.
