Review Shiv Khori shrine yatra timing: JKPCC to authorities
4/7/2026 10:59:08 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 7: Congress has asked the authorities of the Shiv Khori shrine Board. and the security administration to immediately review the Yatra timing ,which was drastically curtailed after a serious terror attack on bus carrying yatris, nearly two years ago.
The Senior Congress leaders expressed surprise that the curtailment in the timing of yatra continued to be same after passage of nearly two years whereas the government claims improvement and normalcy in the overall security situation .The continued curtailment in timings of yatra & the claims of normalcy side by side, don't augur well, they added.
Supporting the Shiv Khori Shrine movement carried by the people demanding enhancement in the yatra duration to round the clock. the Senior Congress leaders asked all the concerned authorities to immediately consider the demand of agitating stakeholders and review the earlier decision in view of the prevailing situation where smooth yatra of Vaishno Devi ji and other revered shrines is going on round the clock.
Senior Congress leaders led by Working President Shri Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma ,Former ministers Jugal Kishore Sharma, Jagjivan Lal , Ex MLA Mumtaz Khan,Rakesh Wazir, Rajesh Sadhotra DCC President Ajay Salalia,Adv Vijay Sharma,Munshi Ram ,Karandeep Singh & ors have said that the demand of the people is genuine and in the larger intrests of the pilgrims and all bread earners dependant upon the holy Yatra.
They impressed upon authorities to make fool proof arrangements for the smooth conduct of the yatra, after considering the demand of the agitating people regarding the duration of yatra on fair parameters and keeping in view larger intrests of people and the religious sentiments, they added.
