5 missing persons reunited with their families by J&K police Kathua

KATHUA, Apr 8: J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS reunited five missing persons within the jurisdictional areas of PS Basohli, Bani, Billawar, Kathua & Lakhanpur.
In the first instance, On dated 04/04/2026 one applicant namely Ashraf Hussain S/o Mohd Yousaf R/o Jated Tehsil Basohli District Kathua and lodged a written complaint regarding missing of his wife namely Razia Begum W/o Ashraf Hussain. On receiving complaint a missing report was entered at this PS Basohli vide DD No.07 dated 04-04-2024. Acting swiftly police team led by SHO PS Basohli Insp. Rajeshwar Singh under the guidance of SDPO Basohli Sh. Om Parkash searched various places and with the help of technical assistance along with timely human intervention recovered said missing lady.
While in the second instance, one more missing report was registered at PS Bani vide DDR No.12 dated 26/12/2025 regarding missing person namely Sanjeet Kumar S/o Bhagat Ram R/o Fatehpur Tehsil Bani District Kathua.Acting on the report, Police team led by SHO PS Bani Insp. Pawan Singh under the guidance of DySP Ops. Bani initiated efforts to trace the missing person and traced out said person.
While in the third instance, On 19-03-2026 one Person namely Romesh Singh S/o Balia R/O Banjal Bhatwal Tehsil Lohai Malhar District Kathua came at this P/S Billawar and lodged a written complaint regarding missing of his wife namely Vimla Devi W/o Romesh Singh R/o Banjal Bhatwal Tehsil Lohai Malhar Distt.Kathua Age- 48 years . On receiving a complaint a missing report was entered at this P/S Billawar vide GD No.09 dated 19-03-2026 and a team of P/S Billawar led by SHO Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh Neeraj Padyar searched various places in the Jurisdiction of PS Billawar ,as well as outside the J/d of PS with the help of technical assistance along with timely human intervention recovered the missing lady.
In addition, the missing lady namely Payal Sharma D/o Sarvan Kumar R/o Nagri Parole, whose missing report was lodged at this Police Post vide DD No. 14 dated 07/07/2025, has been traced out by police team led by IC PP Nagri PSI Khem Raj under the close supervision of Addl. SP Kathua Sh. Sunil Kumar Kesar, DySP Hqrs Kathua Sh. Ravinder Singh & SHO PS Kathua Insp. Ashish Sharma. Accordingly, the missing report stands closed as TRACED vide DDR NO 04 Dated 08/04/2025.
Moreover, On dated 29-03-2026, one person namely Kali Dass S/O Gyan Chand R/O Gandyal Tehsil and District Kathua produced a missing complaint of his wife namely Sunita Devi W/O Kali Dass alongwith two minor Children. On this a missing report was entered vide DDR No.07 dated 29/03/2026 at PS Lakhanpur. After technical analysis, a police team headed by PSI Raman Kumar alongwith other officials deputed to Delhi under the close supervision of Addl. SP Kathua, DySP DAR Kathua & SHO PS Lakhanpur and successfully traced out the said lady along with her minor children from Alipur Delhi and missing report has been closed vide DDR No.18 dated 08/04/2026.
Therafter, after completing the necessary legal procedures, all the traced persons were handed over to their legal heirs.
General Public appreciated the efforts of J&K Police Kathua.
