Director Ayush chairs introductory review meeting

JAMMU, Apr 9: Dr. Ajay Kumar Tikoo today chaired the maiden meeting at the Directorate conference Hall after taking over as the Director Ayush- J&K. Dr Rakesh Kumar Raina Assistant Director, Ayush welcomed the Director. He hoped that the Ayush sector would prosper in leaps and bounds under his leadership.
At the outset, different sections of the Directorate including Accounts, Establishment, Planning, National Ayush Mission and the J&K Medicinal Plants Board gave comprehensive presentations. The respective section heads apprised the Director of the progress and achievements under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), as well as Capex and Non-Plan components.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Tikoo appreciated the work done by different sections and emphasized the need for a result-oriented and accountable approach in implementing various programmes and schemes. He called for improved monitoring mechanisms, advising each section to adopt a structured review system with periodic progress reporting and clearly defined timelines.
Underscoring the need for better coordination and innovation, the Director called for enhanced inter-sectional synergy and the use of digital tools for real-time tracking and transparency in implementation. He also emphasized intensified field monitoring through regular visits by officers to ensure effective execution of schemes at the grassroots level.
With regard to the J&K Medicinal Plants Board, Dr. Tikoo highlighted the importance of promoting cultivation of medicinal plants, strengthening farmer linkages and ensuring convergence with allied departments to unlock the sector's full potential.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Directors (Ayurveda/Unani) Dr. Rakesh Kumar Raina and Dr. Sujad Hussain Shuja; Assistant Director Planning, Archana; Accounts Officer Vishesh Kapoor; Technical Officer, J&K SMPB Dr. Wahid-ul-Hassan; Nodal Officer (Litigation), Jammu, Dr. Ramesh Chander and other officers and officials of the Directorate. Officers and officials stationed at Srinagar joined the meeting through virtual mode
