Early Times Report REASI, Apr 10: Continuing its drive to ensure proper regulation and accountability of pony handlers, Reasi Police have booked five individuals for operating without mandatory registration cards on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi track, Katra. The action was taken on the directions of SSP Reasi, Mukund Tibrewal, IPS. Five FIRs have been registered under Section 223(a) at Police Station Katra against the following pony handlers: FIR No. 97/2026 U/S 223(a), Lal Chand S/o Rattan Chand, R/o Panjar, Tehsil Moungri, District Udhampur. FIR No. 99/2026 U/S 223(a), Pyar Chand S/o Bittu Ram, R/o Ladda, Tehsil Moungri, District Udhampur. FIR No. 100/2026 U/S 223(a), Jagattar Singh S/o Shankar Singh, R/o Parkh, Tehsil Pouni, District Reasi. FIR No. 101/2026 U/S 223(a), Mango Ram S/o Amar Nath, R/o Hunder, Tehsil Arnas, District Reasi. FIR No. 102/2026 U/S 223(a), Mushtaq Mohd S/o Saif Ali, R/o Larh, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur. All the operations were carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Kameshwar Puri, JKPS. Reasi Police affirmed that strict action will continue against violators to ensure safety, transparency, and proper regulation of pony services in the district.
