Fight against drugs gains momentum in Rajouri with with launch of 100-Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyhan

RAJOURI, Apr 11: As part of the Mega Launch of the 100-Day Campaign under Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan spearheaded by Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, the District Administration Rajouri organised a PadYatra from the DC Office Complex to Dak Bungalow.
The PadYatra was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma along with DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Sandeep Wazir and SSP Gaurav Sikarwar. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from district and sectoral officers, teachers, students, prominent citizens and the general public, reflecting a strong collective resolve to combat the menace of drug abuse.
On reaching Dak Bungalow, a signature campaign was held to reaffirm the commitment of participants towards building a drug-free society.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for collective efforts to eliminate drug abuse. He said the 100-day campaign would focus on awareness generation, community engagement and strict enforcement. He informed that a comprehensive action plan has been prepared to cover all Panchayats of the district during the campaign period.
DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range also addressed the gathering and underscored the role of law enforcement agencies in curbing drug trafficking, urging the public to extend full cooperation in identifying and reporting such activities.
Prominent citizens appreciated the efforts of LG Shri Manoj Sinha and lauded the initiative aimed at safeguarding the youth and society from the ill effects of drugs.
Later, the District Administration organised an interactive session, which witnessed huge participation from the general public. Participants actively shared their suggestions and ideas for effectively curbing the menace of drug abuse.
Similar programmes were organised across all subdivisions of district Rajouri to ensure wider outreach and public participation.
Among others present included ADDC Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq; ADC Chander Prakash; Programme Officer ICDS Harpal Singh; ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan; CPO Maqsood Ahmed; Deputy Director Employment Mohammad Nawaz; ACD Auqil Naveed; DSWO Abdul Raheem and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
