26th IACDE PG convention concludes in Jammu, highlighting excellence and innovation in Dental Science

JAMMU, Apr 12: The 26th National Postgraduate Convention of the Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) concluded successfully today at the Convention Centre, Jammu, marking the culmination of a major academic gathering of dental professionals from across the country. The convention, themed "Preserve, Restore, Innovate," brought together over 1000 delegates, including postgraduate students, researchers, academicians, and leading experts in the field of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advancements in dental science. This three-day event was held from April 10 to 12, 2026. The event commenced on April 10 with pre-conference scientific sessions and hands-on courses held at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC), Jammu, offering advanced training in dental techniques and procedures. These sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students eager to enhance their clinical skills, with about 850 student scientific presentations. On April 11, the inaugural ceremony was graced by Yudhvir Sethi, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Jammu East, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of continuous learning and innovation in improving oral healthcare standards and highlighted the potential of Jammu as a hub for dental tourism, citing its growing healthcare infrastructure and academic excellence. Dr. Dibyendu Mazumdar, Chief Patron and Past President of the Dental Council of India, appreciated the conference and commended the dedicated efforts of the organizing team, particularly acknowledging the role of Dr. Shamim Anjum in successfully organizing the event.
During the convention, a wide array of scientific sessions, paper presentations, expert lectures, and keynote addresses were conducted at the Convention Centre, Jammu. These sessions focused on key areas such as Endodontics, Aesthetic Dentistry, and Dental Materials, with renowned speakers from across the country sharing their insights on emerging trends and innovations in dentistry. An extensive trade exhibition showcasing the latest dental technologies and materials was also set up at the Convention Centre, attracting significant interest from delegates and practitioners. The convention was organized under the leadership of Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone, Principal and Dean, IGGDC Jammu. The organizing committee included Dr. Shamim Anjum (Organizing Secretary), Dr. Azhar Malik (Organizing Chairman), Dr. Rachna Dhani Singh (Treasurer), Dr. Rudra Kaul (Scientific Chairman), Dr. Ajay Gupta (Trade Chairman), Dr. Ravinder Bhagat (Accommodation Chairman), and Dr. Sachin Chadgal (Transport Chairman), whose collective efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event. The convention was supported by CSIR-IIIM Jammu as Knowledge Partner, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism as Tourism Partner, and Shofu Dental India Pvt. Ltd. as the Principal Sponsor. The three-day event concluded on April 12 with a valedictory ceremony at the Convention Centre, Jammu, where outstanding scientific contributions were recognized and awards were presented to winners of paper and poster presentations, as well as to participants of the innovation awards. The convention stood as a significant platform for young dental professionals to showcase their research and engage with experts, further strengthening the future of dental education and practice in India.
