| Police conduct Anti-Drug Awareness Programmes under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Apr 14: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Udhampur Police organised anti-drug awareness programmes at different locations to sensitise the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse. A drug awareness lecture was conducted at Police post Ponara by the police team of Police Station Basantgarh, where locals were educated about the adverse impact of drug addiction on individuals and society. Participants were urged to remain vigilant and support efforts to curb the drug menace. In another initiative, a Drug Awareness Programme was organised by Udhampur Police with Self Help Group UMEED, Panchayat Sira in collaboration with UMEED members. The programme witnessed active participation from local residents. Speakers highlighted the growing menace of drug addiction, its social impact and the relevant legal provisions, while emphasising the importance of community participation in preventing drug abuse. Participants appreciated the initiative and assured full cooperation with police in combating the drug menace. Udhampur Police reiterated its commitment to sustained awareness and community engagement under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to build a drug-free society. |
