BUDGAM, Apr 21: District Level Workshop on capacity building and awareness regarding accounting procedures conducted today at the Auditorium of SAM Degree College Budgam.
The workshop was organized by the Office of the Principal Accountant General (PAG) (A&E), Jammu & Kashmir with the objective of strengthening financial management practices and enhancing awareness among stakeholders on various accounting-related issues.
The workshop witnessed the participation of all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of District Budgam, along with treasury officials and other concerned functionaries.
The programme focused on sensitizing officers about financial discipline, compliance requirements, and best practices in government accounting systems.
On the occasion, the District Treasury Officer Budgam, Dr. Showkat Ali Rather delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of capacity building for financial officers and the need for strict adherence to accounting norms.
During the workshop, expert resource persons from the office of the Principal Accountant General delivered comprehensive presentations covering key areas such as preparation of budget estimates, classification checks, accounting, implementation of the e-voucher system, and clearance of pending audit paras. The sessions also addressed common accounting discrepancies and provided practical guidance for improving financial accuracy and transparency in departmental transactions. |
