Early Times Report RAJOURI, Apr 21: The Department of Sociology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University-Rajouri, in collaboration with the Department of Political Science and International Relations, successfully organized the inaugural lecture under the Rabta Sociological Society Lecture Series on Tuesday, 21st April 2026. The lecture, titled "Sociology in the 21st Century: Discipline, Method and Expanding Horizon," was delivered by Dr. Nirmala Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, G.N.D.U. In her insightful lecture, she highlighted the evolving nature of sociology, its methodological advancements, and the expanding horizons of the discipline in the contemporary global context. The programme was attended by faculty members including Dr. Tanvir Ahmed, Head, Department of Sociology; Dr. Mariya Aslam, Head, Department of Political Science and International Relations; Dr. Rizvana Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology; and Dr. Ikhlaq Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and International Relations. Dr. Rizvana Chaudhary formally introduced the guest speaker, outlining her academic contributions and research expertise. The lecture was followed by an engaging interaction session, where students and scholars actively participated. Dr. Tanvir Ahmed, presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker for her enlightening talk and to all participants for making the event a success.
