The visit was aimed at reviewing the progress of the revision exercise on the ground and ensuring that the electoral rolls are comprehensive, accurate and inclusive.
The ongoing revision process, which commenced on March 27, 2026, provides for filing of claims and objections pertaining to new enrolments, deletions and transposition of voters across the Union Territory.
During the inspection of special camps at GDC Hiranagar and GMS Badala, the State Election Commissioner reviewed the functioning of special camps and assessed the pace of enrolment of newly eligible voters.
