Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Apr 21: Udhampur Police continued its commitment to the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan. The department emphasized intensified action against drug peddling along with sustained awareness efforts to protect the youth from substance abuse. Udhampur Police has attached a movable and immovable property worth ?45 lakhs belonging to accused Mohammad Rustum Shah S/O Nazir Ahmed Shah R/O Hamdania Colony, Nadihal, Baramulla under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. The attachment has been made in connection with FIR No. 59/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Rehambal. During the course of investigation, it came to fore that the accused had acquired one residential house standing in the name of his wife Shanaza Akhter, falling under Survey No. 3036 Min situated at Hamdania Colony, Nadihal, Baramulla, along with one Dzire VXI car bearing Registration No. JK04H-977. The Investigating Officer of the case developed reason to believe that the said property had been acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotics trade. Accordingly, the said house along with land and vehicle has been attached under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act for further legal proceedings. With these attachments, Udhampur Police has so far attached properties worth Rs 80 lakhs belonging to drug peddlers under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan. |
