Early Times Report ARNAS, Apr 21: Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, conducted a comprehensive security review of key installations, including Kouri Bakal Bridge, Railway Station Dugga, and Sawalakote. The SSP was accompanied by Addl. SP Reasi, Iftekhar Ahmed (JKPS), and SDPO Arnas, Updesh Kumar (DySP), during the visit. At Kouri Bakal Bridge over the Chenab, the SSP interacted with personnel from CRPF, GRP, and SPP Kouri deployed for security of the bridge and adjoining areas. He emphasized the need for strong inter-agency coordination to ensure effective joint area domination of nearby villages and forest belts. He also stressed strict access control measures and the use of modern surveillance systems to prevent any untoward incidents. At Railway Station Dugga & Sawalakote, the SSP interacted with personnel of SPP Sawalakote, RPF, and members of the Village Defence Guards (VDGs). He directed that all area domination exercises be properly documented on a daily basis and highlighted the importance of regular engagement and training, including firing practice, of VDG members. The SSP also visited Police Post Dhansal and Police Station Arnas. At Police Station Arnas, he issued directions to improve the maintenance of police records and ensure cleanliness of the premises. Investigating Officers were instructed to focus on expediting inquests, tracing missing persons, and apprehending absconders to reduce pendency. At the conclusion of the visit, the SSP reiterated that the security of vital installations, including religious sites, remains the top priority for the district. He stressed that no laxity will be tolerated in ensuring the safety and security of such installations. |
