Early Times Report RS PURA, Apr 23: Drug De-addiction Committee of GDC , R. S. Pura today organized an awareness program under the ambit of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on the thought-provoking theme "Drugs: A Silent Killer." The program aimed to sensitize students about the hazardous effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, reflecting a strong commitment towards building a drug-free society. Eminent speakers highlighted the alarming rise in substance abuse among youth and emphasized the need for awareness, early intervention and collective responsibility in tackling this social menace. During the session, the Prof Neelam Kumari, convener of the committee elaborated on the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction, describing it as a "silent killer" that gradually destroys individuals, families and communities. - The Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to actively participate in such campaigns. She reiterated the institution's dedication to supporting the nationwide mission of a drug-free India and fostering holistic development among students. An interactive session was also held where students raised queries and shared their views, making the program engaging and impactful. The event was coordinated by Prof. Neelam Kumari, Convener Drug De-addiction Committee and the faculty members presented during the event were Dr.Jasmeet Kour, Dr. Raj Kumari, Dr. Akrity Parihar, Prof. Geetika Goswami, Prof. Meeshu Pandita and Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch. |
