Early Times Report AMRITSAR, Apr 23: The Directorate of Placement and Career Enhancement at Guru Nanak Dev University successfully organized a Credit Awareness Program in collaboration with the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India Under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Karamjeet Singh. The session aimed to enhance financial literacy among students, particularly from non-commerce backgrounds, by equipping them with essential knowledge of credit management and responsible borrowing practices. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students belonging to diverse disciplines such as Engineering, Technology, and Sciences. The session provided valuable insights into the credit and lending ecosystem. Expert from BFSI SSC Ms. Madhuri Mahajan, covered a wide range of topics including secured and unsecured loans, credit cards and their responsible usage, credit scores and reports, loan eligibility, EMI planning, digital lending practices, and consumer rights. The session also included practical case studies, enabling students to understand real-world financial scenarios. An interactive Q&A session allowed participants to clarify their queries and gain deeper insights into managing personal finances effectively. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Harvinder Singh Saini, Dean Academic Affairs emphasized the importance of financial literacy in today's rapidly evolving economic landscape. He stated, "Understanding credit and financial responsibility is an essential life skill. Such initiatives empower students to make informed financial decisions and safeguard themselves against potential financial risks." Dr. K. S.
