Early Times Report
CHANDIGARH, Apr 23: Under Poshan Pakhwada 2026, a series of meaningful and engaging activities were successfully conducted across various circles to promote health, nutrition, and early childhood development. The campaign witnessed active participation from beneficiaries, field staff, and supervisors, highlighting strong community involvement.
At Kajheri, a lecture on Urban Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Day (UHSND) and immunization was delivered by the ANM and LHV. The session served as an important platform to raise awareness about essential health services and preventive care. Beneficiaries participated enthusiastically, demonstrating increased awareness and interest in adopting healthy practices.
In Circle 52, "Family Play Time" was celebrated with great joy and energy. Mothers and children came together to engage in fun, play-based activities using locally available materials. The initiative emphasized the importance of parent-child bonding, learning through play, and fostering healthy development during early childhood.
At the Manimajra area circle, an event was organized around the theme of Early Childhood Stimulation (0-3 years). The program focused on educating caregivers about the critical role of stimulation in the formative years of a child's life, encouraging practices that support cognitive and emotional growth.
In addition to these key events, several supportive activities were conducted throughout the campaign. These included the promotion of yoga at home to encourage physical well-being, awareness drives on the benefits of millets for better nutrition, and a slogan writing competition to creatively engage the community on the importance of healthy dietary choices. Lectures on immunization further strengthened awareness regarding disease prevention, while home visits were conducted for SAM (Severely Acute Malnourished) and MAM (Moderately Acute Malnourished) children to ensure targeted care and monitoring.
