Samba police recovers kidnapped minor girl from Delhi; accused arrested

Samba, Apr 30: Samba Police has successfully recovered a kidnapped minor girl from Delhi in a kidnapping case registered at Police Station Ghagwal and arrested the kidnapper.
A written complaint was lodged at Police Station Ghagwal by the father of kidnapped girl, a resident of Sangwali, Ghagwal district Samba stating therein that his daughter, age about 16-year-old, had been kidnapped. Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 41/2026 u/s 137(2) BNS got registered at Police Station Ghagwal and search was started to trace the said kidnapped girl.
Taking immediate cognizance into the matter, SSP Samba, Sh Anuj Kumar, IPS constituted special teams from Police Station Ghagwal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba. The Police teams conducted extensive searches and multiple raids at various locations both within and outside the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Through sustained efforts, technical surveillance and precise coordination, the police successfully traced and recovered the kidnapped minor girl from Delhi. Accordingly, the said girl was safely brought back to PS Ghagwal. Following her recovery, the girl was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Samba for counselling. Subsequently, her statement was recorded before the Hon’ble Court Samba. Based on her statement, additional offences under Section 64 BNS and Sections 3/4 of the POCSO Act were incorporated into the case. After completing all legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her parents.
The kidnapper identified as Abhishek Manyal S/o Dewan Chand R/o Sangwali, Ghagwal district Samba has also been arrested. Further investigation of the case is going on.
