JAMMU, Apr 30: The 5th Ravi Tikku Memorial Speedball Championship 2026 concluded today with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The event was organized by the J&K Sports Speedball Association in collaboration with JP World School.
The championship was held at the JP Auditorium on April 30, 2026, on the occasion of the 5th death anniversary of late Ravi Tikku, to honor his contribution to the sport. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Law & Order, Jammu, Ansuya Jamwal (KAS), attended the function as the chief guest.
More than 200 students from various schools across Jammu district participated in the championship. The participating schools included Jammu Sanskriti School, RM Public School, Dogra Higher Secondary School, S.D Tara Puri high School, Crescent Public School, Delhi Public School Jammu , IDPS School, Lawrence Public School Sidhra , JP World School.G.D Goenka Public School.
The championship was hosted by Sunny Nanda, General Secretary of the association, who ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
The event witnessed high-energy performances, showcasing the growing popularity of speedball among young athletes in the region. It concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the achievements and encouraging future participation.
The Guest of Honour was Dr. N. M. Tikku. Other distinguished guests included Panna Manhas (Chairperson), Vanita Bakaya (wife of Ex-Chief Secretary, J&K), Ankush Mahajan (Editor-in-Chief, Jammu Bulletin), Reema Tikku (Presiding Guest and wife of Late Ravi Tikku), Munish Gupta (Vice President), Ashta Nanda (Joint Secretary, J&K Sports Speedball Association), and MsAparna Kohli (Principal, JP World School).The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries. The Chief Guest, Ansuya Jamwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Law & Order, Jammu, addressed the gathering and delivered an inspiring speech under the "Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan," motivating the youth to stay away from drugs and focus on sports and a healthy lifestyle. At the end Dr N.M Tikku delivered the vote of thanks.
