Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 30: The SPARSH Committee of Government College of Education Jammu organized an awareness programme on SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment electronic Box) to sensitize students to workplace safety, gender dignity and mechanisms for reporting sexual harassment.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, who highlighted the importance of creating a safe, respectful and inclusive academic environment. She encouraged students to remain aware of their rights and responsibilities and emphasized the collective duty to ensure a harassment-free campus.
The session was conducted by the Resource Person, Dr. Sonam Gandotra, Head Department of ICT. She delivered an insightful presentation on SHe-Box, an initiative of the Government of India that provides a single-window online platform for lodging complaints related to sexual harassment at the workplace. She elaborated on the concept and forms of sexual harassment, including quid pro quo and hostile work environment and explained the process of filing complaints through SHe-Box.
