Change of Sentiment in Sports and Players
5/3/2026 9:38:42 PM
Sports is not only physical activity, but also a powerful medium for the development of mindset, emotions and personality. The game and the attitude of the players have changed greatly over time. Where sports were once considered limited to entertainment and health, today it has become a symbol of profession, identity and national pride.
Traditional feelings and sports spirit
The main purpose of sports in the old days was pleasure, team spirit and physical fitness. The players used to adopt the game as a hobby and the feeling was paramount. Accepting wins and losses with equal spirit, respecting the opponent and following the rules was considered to be the basic spirit of the game.
Changes in modern era
Today the nature of sports has completely changed. Sports have turned into a big industry under the influence of professionalism, media and technology. Events like the Olympic Games, Indian Premier League have given players global recognition. Now players do not only play the game, but also become brand ambassadors, sources of inspiration and economic power.
Emotional change
Along with this change, the feelings of players have also changed. Where contentment and simplicity were dominant, now competition, pressure and a strong desire for success have increased. Today’s player wants to be more mentally strong, because he faces the pressure not only on the field but also social media and public expectations.
Inspirational example
Sachin Tendulkar presented the ideal of sports spirit with his discipline and humility, while Neeraj Chopra set a new example of dedication and confidence in the modern era. These players showed that it is possible to maintain the original emotions even in changing times.
Positive and negative effects
There are many positive aspects of this change— Players are getting better features, identity and economic security. But with it comes stress, competition and sometimes unethical behaviour (such as doping). This challenges the basic spirit of the game.
Need for balance
Today the biggest need is to maintain a balance between modernity and tradition. Players should not forget the game spirit, morality and discipline even while taking advantage of technology and opportunities.
Conclusion
The change in the game and players is a demand of time, but this change should be in a positive direction. If players continue to maintain their core values, the game will not only remain a means of competition, but also a source of inspiration and unity for society.
