Two drug peddlers arrested with heroin by Udhampur police in separate cases

UDHAMPUR, May 4: Udhampur Police continued its commitment to the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir campaign. The department emphasized intensified action against drug peddling along with sustained awareness efforts to protect the youth from substance abuse. Udhampur Police arrested two drug peddlers in separate cases and recovered heroin from their possession.
Case 1: (PS Rehambal):-
During routine naka checking at Phalata, a police party from PS Rehambal apprehended one person namely Ujwal S/o Ashok Kumar R/o Ammunition Morh, Garhi, Tehsil & District Udhampur. During his personal search, 2.42 grams of heroin along with a poly pouch was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 96/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and investigation is underway.
Case 2: (PS Udhampur):-
In another case, Police Station Udhampur arrested one Surinder Kumar S/o Satpal R/o Battal Ballian, Tehsil & District Udhampur, from whose possession 3.20 grams of heroin was recovered.
In this regard, FIR No. 182/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
