JAMMU, May 6: Continuing its drive under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Jammu Police achieved a significant success by apprehending a drug peddler during naka checking. On 04-05-2026, a police team led by I/C Police Post Chowk Chabutra, along with the SHO Police Station Pacca Danga, during naka checking at Circular Road, apprehended one individual identified as Khurshid Ahmed S/o Ghulam Mir R/o Rawat Pura, Karal Pura, Kupwara.
During his personal search, approximately 4-5 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 42/2026 under sections 8/20/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Pacca Danga.
Further investigation has been entrusted to ascertain forward and backward linkages involved in the illicit drug network.
