Early Times Report REASI, May 6: Reasi Police, under the supervision of SSP Reasi Sh. Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, continues its sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan to curb the menace of drug abuse and illegal trafficking. In continuation of these efforts, a police party deployed on patrolling and frisking duty in Katra town achieved a significant success. At around 1400 hours, while conducting routine checking near Ambika Chowk, Katra, one suspicious person approaching from Udhampur towards Katra was intercepted and stopped for verification. During questioning, the individual disclosed his identity as Vicky Kumar S/o Sanjay Kumar R/o Suketar, Tehsil Dansal. Upon checking of the black-coloured bag in his possession, 300 capsules of Pregabalin were recovered. The accused was immediately detained by the naka party and cognizance of the matter has been taken. The concerned Drug Inspector has also been informed regarding the recovery for further necessary action under relevant provisions. The entire operation was carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey, JKPS, and SP Katra Kameshwar Puri, JKPS. Reasi Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating drug abuse and urges the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug peddling to help build a drug-free society. |
