Early Times Report JAMMU, May 7: Students of Humanity Public School (HPS) participated in the "Save Birds, Save Water Day" programme organized by Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K at Sabha Bhawan, Dogra Hall, Jammu. Marking a blend of culture and conservation, a 35-students contingent accompanied by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Coordinator High Wing and teacher, Mrs. Rashmi represented the school. The lineup featured Shagun Rajput from class 7th who recited an original poem in Dogri, Vanshika Choudhary from class 7th who presented a talk in Dogri, and Prachi Bhagat from class 7th who spoke on a topic in mixed language. Kiksha Devi from Class 7th, won the prize for best placard with her vibrant creation on the theme "Save Birds Save Water," highlighting the urgent need for water conservation for avian life during peak summer. Dogra Sadar Sabha, established in 1904 and one of Jammu's oldest secular bodies, hosted the event to foster unity, brotherhood, social responsibility and national integration. Principal Mr. Gaurav Charak said, "Our students are not just learning about the environment, they're acting for it. With the dedication of Mrs. Rashmi and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, and the creativity our children bring through poetry, oration and art, we're proud to support this vital cause. Every drop saved is a life saved." Vice Principal Mrs. Anku Charak thanked Dogra Sadar Sabha for the opportunity and lauded the students' efforts. She said, "Such initiatives instill compassion and responsibility in our children. When our young learners step forward to protect nature, they become true ambassadors of change for society." The school extended gratitude to Dogra Sadar Sabha for creating a platform where young minds could engage with real-world issues and showcase Dogri language and culture. |
