Chandigarh, May 13: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a faculty development workshop on the topic ‘National Education Policy 2020: Capacity Building for Effective Curriculum Implementation and Academic Quality Enhancement’. The workshop aimed at providing academic clarity regarding the effective implementation of the NEP 2020 curricular framework. The workshop featured Prof. Anil Monga, Department of Police Administration and NEP Coordinator, Panjab University, Chandigarh, as the resource person. Addressing the participants, Prof. Monga elaborated upon the course structuring and credit distribution envisaged under NEP 2020, while also discussing its interdisciplinary components and procedural aspects. He highlighted the significance of critical thinking, experiential learning and skill development as essential pillars of contemporary education. The workshop served as a meaningful platform for faculty members to examine existing academic practices, identify areas for improvement and explore innovative ways to integrate the principles of NEP 2020 into curriculum design and pedagogy. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and academic administrators, who engaged in insightful discussions on quality enhancement and effective curriculum delivery. Officiating Principal Ms Neena Sharma appreciated the efforts of IQAC for consistent commitment towards establishing excellence in quality benchmarks and academic practices. She reiterated the institution’s endeavour to nurture the holistic development of students through progressive and learner-centric educational initiatives. |
