| Padyatra, Blood Donation Camp held at Chanderkote | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, May 13: As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Administration Ramban today organized a Padyatra-cum-Awareness Rally at Chanderkote to generate public awareness against drug abuse and mobilize collective action for a drug-free society. The programme was organized by the Health Department under the supervision of Block Medical Officer Batote Dr. Opinder Singh. The Local SHO and other officers of civil administration, health officials, field functionaries, youth and members of civil society joined the rally, reflecting strong community support for the anti-drug campaign. The rally commenced from the local Health Centre and passed through the main market, with participants raising slogans and carrying banners conveying strong messages against substance abuse. Speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drug addiction on individuals, families and society, while stressing the importance of early awareness, counselling and community vigilance to curb the menace. A major highlight of the programme was a Blood Donation Camp organized at the Health Centre, which witnessed an encouraging response from volunteers including local residents, officials and youth. The camp symbolized the spirit of humanitarian service and social commitment, with donors coming forward to contribute towards saving precious lives. Medical teams ensured smooth conduct of the blood donation process with proper screening, counselling and health check-ups for all donors. Participants were also sensitized about the importance of regular voluntary blood donation and its critical role in strengthening emergency healthcare services. The programme concluded with a renewed pledge by participants to actively support the mission of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir and promote awareness, healthy lifestyles and social responsibility across the district. |
