DODA, May 13: Continuing its drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Doda Police today seized a dumper in the jurisdiction of Police Post Khellani for violating mining regulations. The action was led by IC PP Khellani.
A dumper bearing registration number JK08M-0214, driven by Murtaza Rajab Naik S/O Mohd Rajab Naik R/O Neel, Tehsil Ramsoo, District Ramban, was intercepted near Khellani Market during routine checking by police personnel of PP Khellani.
During inspection, the vehicle was found carrying minor mineral material (Bajri) without any valid GR/Form-A and other requisite documents. Acting promptly, police seized the vehicle and informed the District Mineral Officer (DMO) Doda for further necessary action under relevant mining laws. Subsequently, the DMO Doda imposed a fine amounting to Rs. 28,200/- on the violator as per the prescribed norms.
Doda Police reiterated its commitment to take strict action against illegal mining activities and appealed to the public to cooperate in preserving natural resources and maintaining environmental balance. |
