Early Times Report REASI, May 14: As part of the ongoing public outreach initiative Thana Diwas launched by Jammu & Kashmir Police to strengthen Police-public relations and ensure responsive policing, a public interaction programme was organized today at Dak Bungalow Mahore in Sub Division Mahore. The programme was presided over by Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi. The event was attended by Parul Bhardwaj, JKPS, SDPO Mahore; Azhar Ali Shah, DySP Operations; Insp. Jeet Singh, SHO Police Station Mahore. A large number of people from Mahore and adjoining areas participated in the programme and projected various issues related to public welfare, policing, security, road connectivity, youth engagement and drug abuse prevention. The participants appreciated the initiative of organizing Thana Diwas at the grassroots level and expressed their views openly before the Police officers. During the interaction, SSP Reasi patiently listened to the grievances and concerns raised by the public and assured them that all genuine issues pertaining to policing and public safety would be addressed on priority. He emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination between Police and the public for maintaining peace, communal harmony, and security in the area. The participants were also sensitized about the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and made aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse on society, particularly on the youth. SSP Reasi appealed to religious leaders to highlight the issue of drug abuse and its ill effects during sermons. He further urged the public to remain vigilant and share information related to anti-national elements or any suspicious activities with the Police and security agencies so that timely preventive action can be taken. At the end SSP reiterated that, Reasi Police remains committed to transparent, people-friendly, and community-oriented policing. |
