Who owns this body? The One who created it while you were in your mother’s womb; the One who gave you eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and brain. And what is its value? Can you put a price on it? No—you cannot, it is priceless. We all run to earn money, thinking that if we study well in school, we will get a good salary package. But imagine—even if you get the wealth of the entire world, or someone offers you a monthly salary of one lakh crore rupees, even if you stack up your entire lifetime’s salary—it cannot buy you even one extra minute after death. No doctor in the world can give you that extra minute, not even those doctors whom we believe can fix everything. Just see how precious this life is! Think about it: if someone breaks your mobile phone, they might say, “It cost fifteen thousand rupees—pay me back fifteen thousand.” But if this body is broken, where will you get enough money to replace it? The very moment life ends, you incur the punishment of 84 lakh life forms! You may suddenly find yourself reborn as a dog standing in front of your own house. Now tell me—is it better to be reborn as a dog, or to accept life, bear a little scolding from parents or family, or endure some loss or humiliation? But instead, people think for a moment, “Let me just die.” And the moment they do, they discover they are standing as a cat in front of the house, or perched as a crow on the window grill. That is the punishment! Because this body is the most valuable thing—it is the greatest crime in this world to even think of destroying it, because it does not belong to you. That is why, in life, you must learn to accept. Whatever has happened, accept it. At least you won’t end up as a dog in the street, or a donkey in the lane, or a cat at the door. Why fall into sadness, worry, or restlessness? In life, new opportunities always come. It is not as if missing something today means life is over—absolutely not. You will find countless examples of people who failed to get something they wanted at first, but later on, they received something far greater—something a hundred thousand times more valuable than what they originally sought. Destiny always has plans; something better is written for you. What is in your hands is only to make your best effort—the results will be good in their own time. Suppose tomorrow there is a competition—not everyone will come first. Someone will be second, someone third. But does that mean that because I came third this time, I will always remain third? No. That’s why in life you must never feel hopeless or dejected. Always give your best effort and performance.
