CHANDERKOTE, May 15: Continuing its sustained drive against absconders and proclaimed offenders, District Police Ramban achieved a significant success by apprehending two absconders who had been evading arrest since the year 2022. On 14-05-2026, a police team of Police Station Chanderkote headed by ASI Ravinder Kumar Sharma, under the supervision of senior officers of District Police Ramban, successfully arrested the absconders namely Bagh Ali S/O Remo and Barket Ali S/O Hussain Ali both R/O R.S. Pura, District Jammu from Sunderpur, R.S. Pura.
Both the accused were wanted in connection with FIR No. 79/2022 registered at Police Station Chanderkote under sections 307, 427, 34 IPC and sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act. Both had been deliberately evading arrest for the last nearly four years. In this regard, warrant under Section 335 BNSS (previously Section 299 CrPC) had also been issued against the accused by the Sessions Court Ramban.
The arrest of the absconder is a part of the ongoing campaign of District Police Ramban against criminals and absconders to ensure rule of law and public safety in the district. |
